Islamic Sunday School at the Islamic Center of Daytona Beach

The Islamic Center of Daytona Beach is proud to offer an engaging and enriching Islamic Sunday School program for children. Our Sunday School aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic teachings, values, and culture, while fostering a sense of community and friendship among peers.

Curriculum Overview:

  • Qur'an Studies: Students will learn the basics of reading, reciting, and memorizing the Qur'an. Our dedicated teachers guide students through the meaning and context of the verses, helping them to connect these teachings to their everyday lives.

  • Islamic History: Lessons encompass key events in Islamic history, important figures, and the overall evolution of the Muslim community. This segment aims to instill a sense of pride in their heritage among the students.

  • Aqidah (Creed): Students will explore the fundamental beliefs of Islam, fostering an understanding of Tawheed (the oneness of Allah) and the pillars of faith.

  • Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence): Basic Islamic practices, including prayer, fasting, and charitable giving, will be covered, equipping students with the knowledge necessary to fulfill their religious obligations.

  • Character Development: In addition to academic subjects, we emphasize the importance of good character traits, such as honesty, kindness, and respect for others, which are essential components of Islamic teachings.

Age Groups: Our program accommodates various age groups, providing tailored instruction that meets the developmental and educational needs of each cohort. Classes are available for children ranging from preschool age through early adolescence.

Community Engagement: The Sunday School also encourages community involvement through activities and events that allow students to apply their learning in real-life scenarios. This includes community service projects, cultural celebrations, and interfaith dialogues.
